Fourth and fifth graders in D.C. will face off for math challenge sponsored by Harmony DC PCS. It is an extracurricular math event to be held at 62 T St NE, Washington, DC 20002 on Saturday, March 17th, 2018 at 10:00am. The event will provide a challenging, engaging mathematical experience which is both competitive and educational. All interested 4th and 5th graders in only Washington, D.C. (District of Columbia) are welcome to participate in the competition. There is no registration fee.
Note: This event is only for D.C. Schools, NOT open to Maryland or Virgina Schools.
Participants: Must be a 4th or 5th grade student in D.C. (District of Columbia)
Questions: Multiple choice questions from various math topics aligned to Common Core.

1. Great news from our sponsor Harmony DC. Winners will be awarded by grade levels. Fourth graders and fifth graders will have separate winners. First place of 4th and 5th grades each one will get Tablet. Second place of 4th and 5th grades each one will get STEM Kit. Third place of 4th and 5th grades each one will get wireless headphone.
2. Top 10 students of each grade level will be awarded medals.
3. All students will take 50 multiple-choice questions and 2 tie-breaker open response questions in 90 minutes.
4. 4th and 5th graders will be taking same test with same questions but they will be graded/awarded in different category.
5. Students will bubble their answers on a bubble sheet.
9:30 am - 10:15 am -> Check in
10:30 am - 12:00 pm -> Testing
12:00 pm - 12:30 pm -> Grading
12:30 pm - 1:00 pm -> Award Ceremony
Metro/ Bus Service to Harmony DC PCS: 80, 90, 92, 93, G8, P6, X3 Parking: Street parking available on T ST NE and Todd Pl NE. Please allow 15 minutes prior to your arrival to park. Doors will open at 9:30 am. The door on T street side will be the only door open.The latest arrival time is 10:00 am
There will be a check in/ registration table on the first floor of the building. Check in/ registration will be between 9:30am and 10:15am. Students should be checked in by 10:15 am to be accepted to test. Students will get name tags with assigned room and desk number on it during check in.
No students will be accepted to test after 10:15 am. Test will start at 10:30 am and the doors will be closed at that time. 90 minutes will be given students to complete the test and bubble their answers. Students will NOT be allowed to exit the test for the first 60 minutes of the test. Students will only be permitted to use staff restrooms on second floor during the test. A teacher will escort students to the restroom. After 90 minutes students will not be allowed use their pencils for any reason. Test and bubbling the answer sheet should be done in 90 minutes. No electronic devices will be permitted during the test. (No Phone, No Ipad, No Smart Watch, No calculator etc.). All test materials will be provided and available on the students’ assigned desks. (Pencils, Erasers, Test Booklet, Bubble Sheet). NO Calculator will be used during the test.
Parents or teachers who wants wait for their children are more than welcome to stay in the cafeteria on the 1st floor. People other than students and test administrators are NOT allowed to go to the testing areas (2nd and 3rd floor) at any time.
After the test done by 12:00 pm, grading will be done automatically by system between 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm.

Only plain water will be permitted during the test, NO food or drink will be allowed for students. Students cannot bring or buy any food during the test.
